Application Process

To begin the application process please submit an application, a $100 non-refundable fee, and all required documents:

Required Documents

Along with an application and fee, please submit the following information pertaining to your child:

  • Copy of the student’s passport
  • Official transcripts or academic records translated in English and sent directly from the school to Birchwood School of Hawken
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) – applicants who do not speak English as their primary language are required to submit TOEFL results (Birchwood’s institution code is 5996)
  • Financial documentation translated in English
  • Student questionnaire

Once Birchwood receives the required documents, the applicant will be interviewed by a Birchwood administrator and teacher. A Birchwood administrator will also interview a parent of the student. Interviews can be conducted using Skype or FaceTime.

Notification of Admission

Admission decisions will be given via email once the application process is completed. Following notification, enrollment agreements are due along with a non-refundable $150 new student fee, registration fee, and international student fee.

Upon Admission

Upon receiving your acceptance letter and I-20 from Birchwood School of Hawken, please follow the steps below:

*F-1 students must pay the I-901 SEVIS fee on prior to applying for a visa to study in the United States (I-901 SEVIS Fee Payment Tutorial).
