Visual Arts

Birchwood’s visual arts program strives to develop and cultivate the creative minds of our students. Beginning early on, students are exposed to a wide range of art materials and topics. Art terms and history are emphasized and built upon year after year. At Birchwood School of Hawken we strive to integrate and align art lessons with other subjects. This thematic unit approach extends their learning and knowledge of certain topics. The visual arts program provides a positive environment to extend creativity and experiment with a wide range of materials. Throughout their years at Birchwood, students gain knowledge of art history, art materials, and ways of seeing and creating art in the world.
